Get to Know the 2023 Mercedes-Benz C-Class

Mercedes-Benz C-class owners know that bigger isn’t better. The 2023 Mercedes-Benz C-class shares similar characteristics as its larger counterpart (the S-series), such as a plush interior with high-end materials, sleek and modern good looks, and a turbo-four engine under the hood that makes the car purr. If you’re looking for a compact executive car that brings the same posh vibes as its flagship sibling, the C-class has been hiding in plain sight and could be your perfect fit.

Basics About the 2023 Mercedes-Benz C-Class

The C-class is a compact luxury car lineup manufactured by Mercedes-Benz Group AG. Currently, in its fifth generation (W206), the cars in the 2023 C-class lineup are available as four-door sedans, two-door coupes, and convertible cabriolets. Competitors of the C-class include the BMW 3-Series, Audi A5 Sportback, and Genesis G70.

Trim Levels and Packages

The standard C-class model is the C300 sedan, available in three trim levels: Premium, Exclusive, and Pinnacle. The C300 coupe and cabriolet are part of the C-class for 2023, but it’s expected these two variants will be replaced by a new model called the CLE-class. There are plenty of a-la-carte options that can be added to the C300, including the AMG Line package, a panoramic sunroof, navigation, and 4Matic all-wheel drive.

Engine and Performance

A 255-hp turbocharged 2.0-liter inline-four engine and nine-speed automatic transmission is the standard setup for 2023 C-class sedans. A 48-volt hybrid system can briefly provide up to 20 extra horsepower enhancing the turbo four. Additionally, C300 sedans come standard with rear-wheel drive; however, all-wheel drive is an option. The coupe and convertible have a turbocharged four-cylinder engine that can reach the same horsepower as the sedan, just without the same 48-volt hybrid system as the sedan.

For those that want more power under the hood, the AMG Line offers two high-performance options: the C43 and C63. Specifically designed by the elite engineers at Mercedes-AMG, the engines in these two cars produce higher horsepower outputs than their Benz-branded cousins.

High-Tech Interiors and Luxury Designs

Open the door to any vehicle in the 2023 C-class lineup, and you’ll be greeted with a generous number of luxury features, such as heated front seats with memory settings, a sunroof, open-pore wood trim, and aluminum accents—all of which come standard. If you are familiar with the larger S-class lineup, the interior cabin of the C-class shares many of the same high-tech features, such as the digital gauge display, touch-sensitive controls, and a host of amenities. Even the steering wheel of the new 2023 C-class looks like that of the S-class!
