Drive on Over: 5 Golf Courses Near Lincolnwood, IL

The Chicago area has some of the best golfing opportunities in the Midwest. And if Lincolnwood, IL is your home base, there are a number of excellent golf courses within easy driving distance. In fact, the options are so plentiful you may have trouble choosing between them!

1. The Glen Club

The Glen Club is considered to be one of the top public courses in the Chicago area. Designed by architect Tom Fazio, this 18-hole course offers rolling terrain, two water features, and views of the Chicago skyline. The Glen Club also has a 48,000-square-foot clubhouse with dining and overnight accommodations.

Located at 2901 W. Lake Ave in Glenview, The Glen Club is just a 15-minute drive from Lincolnwood. The amenities at this course include GPS-equipped golf carts and a putting practice green.

2. Cantigny Golf Club

Cantigny Golf Club in Wheaton has a 27-hole course that features woodside, lakeside and hillside areas. This facility also includes The Academy, a training center for golfers of all skill levels. The course includes water features and more than 70 sand bunkers. Located in Wheaton at 27W270 Mack Road, this course is a roughly 45-minute drive from Lincolnwood. Amenities include a chipping and pitching area and a practice putting green.

3. Ruffled Feathers Golf Club

Ruffled Feathers Golf Club in Lemont was designed by Pete Dye and his son, P.B. The course has multiple tees on each hole, and the signature No. 11 hole features a 100-yard carry to a green peninsula surrounded by water. Located at 1 Pete Dy Drive in Lemont, this course is a roughly 45-minute drive from Lincolnwood. Golfers will enjoy the all-grass driving range and golf shop at this club.

4. Harborside International Golf Center 

Located in Chicago, this golf facility offers two different courses. The Port Course, a links-style course, opened in 1995, and the Starboard Course opened one year later. Both courses offer amazing city skyline views. Harborside, which is located at 11001 S. Doty Ave. East, has a 57-acre practice facility with different areas for putting drills, chipping, and pitching. There’s also a 20,000-square-foot clubhouse.

5. Sydney R. Marovitz Golf Course

The Sydney R. Marovitz Golf Course, located just off of Lake Michigan, offers nine holes and a clubhouse inside a converted church. Golfers enjoy beautiful views of the Chicago skyline and a fifth hole that hugs the shore. Located in Chicago at 3600 N. Recreation Drive, this course is about a 40-minute drive from Lincolnwood.
