In the 1920s, Martin Loeber immigrated to Illinois from Germany with the original intention of earning enough money in America to purchase a farm in his home country. He started selling Chevrolet cars in 1928. Just a few years later, in 1936, he sold his farm in Germany and used the proceeds to open his first car dealership in downtown Chicago. Decades later, Martin’s two sons, George and Paul Loeber, transitioned into leadership roles in the company. Today, George Loeber’s son, Michael, is the company’s third-generation President.
